Approach

The approach for Fince followed the Double Diamond process: discovering user needs through surveys and interviews, defining insights using empathy maps, developing solutions with user journey maps and competitive analysis, and delivering a refined MVP prioritized by impact and effort. Extensive manual market research and strategic competitor studies shaped a user-focused, trust-building platform.

Overview

An app converting closing hours into business hours. It started with primary research, conducting interviews with local shop owners, collecting data from card sorting, and eventually designing the prototype.

Background

The United States has a significant problem with food waste, with an estimated 30-40% of the food supply going to waste each year. ​

Problem Statement

How might we create a more efficient and equitable system for distributing excess food, with the goal of reducing waste and hunger in the United States.​

The Mobile App

Thrift Table is an app that connects food donors with food recipients in the United States. A platform for people and restaurants to donate excess food to those in need, thereby reducing food waste and eventually helping to alleviate hunger.
